House Updates

This saturday, we paid a visit to site. Progress is good, averaging 1.5 storeys every 2 weeks. It’s now on the 18th storey, so 24 more storeys will take 32 weeks = 8 months. Add in 6 – 9 months more to do the finishing, it’s unlikely we can move in by next year.

We popped by the showroom to take a leak look. Noted down:

  1. Homogenous tiles in the 5-rm showroom measures 24″ x 24″.
  2. Living room measures 8 steps x 6 steps, excluding balcony.

Of course we popped by to spot check.

The muched discussed exposed pipe on the forum. I think I’ll just put a big leafy potted plant next to it and ignore it. Strangely, the balcony has only 1 light point. I remembered there were 2 at City View. Cost cutting?

4-room bomb shelters are smaller than 5-room’s.

There’s another exposed pipe in the MBR balcony. I’ll need two big leafy potted plants.

This is the view from the living room. It’s a glorious sight at night. Can you spot Teck Ghee Vista?

Clue: Between NL & C.

Living Study

This website Booli is a treasure trove of interior decor if you like white and fluid lines. All the pictures in this post are from there. I will not retype the credits beneath each picture.

Last week we revisited the Park Central to copy be inspired by their deco. When we first visited the showroom, the living did not wow us immediately. Compared to the opulent and fancier deco of the other 2 showrooms, it is simpler and normal. But well, showroom is a showroom. And being low on budget, we had to grab ideas wherever we can.

In Park Central, the TV wall is covered entirely in mirror. The TV rests on a transparent structure similar to the picture below. Below the structure is a smaller white console. Looks classy. Check out the grey sofa. Lately, I seem to notice more and more grey sofas.

Another umm grey sofa. It goes well with dark red carpet. For future reference.

This one isn’t grey. I love the wall murals. Did you notice it was painted onto a recess? The cabinet complinents the floor and sofa.

Or we could consider a paler sofa and plant a vibrant painting behind it.

Due to space constaints, we might have to forsake the console and put the TV on a stand.

How much does a white TV console cost?

This could very well be my living room. The size of it and balcony.. and oh, grey sofa again. The sofa has no arm rest, which is a good idea to allow for more seating.

Bedroom Study

It’s been one week, still no letter from age-dee-bee. We need some cheer in our lives,

The clean, pristine and fuss-free lines appeal to me. Maybe some greens here and there will make it more cosy.

Another simple and elegant bedroom. Look at the cabinet at the foot of the bed.

I might paint something like this and angle it on the wall.

Yesterday PY checked the HDB website, found out that our Dawson application was removed! Is this a sign that things are starting to move? I can’t wait 🙂

09 Jan 2010 is a very significant day. It marks the day where we made our decision to call the place which will be our first home. It will be our first home, the very first that will be built with our joined hands. It will require a steadfast commitment of time and money. We have to take care of it and even make sacrifices for it to grow and flourish. Here will be our home.

We will  make our meals in the kitchen and enjoy the nights at the balcony. We will laze in bed while the morning sunlight peeks in from the curtains. I will play with the cat while he watches TV. This is the life that I look forward to.

Where Am I?
